Distance: 200 km (Kathmandu to Besisahar) + 60 km (Besisahar to Chame)

The journey begins with an early morning drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar (about 6-7 hours). Along the way, you’ll pass through the scenic Trishuli River Valley, lush forests, and small villages. Once you reach Besisahar, the road becomes rougher, and you'll continue on a jeep or bus ride towards Chame, passing through Dharapani (1,960m).
As you ascend towards Chame (2,710m), the landscapes start to shift, with pine forests and views of the Lamjung Himal in the distance. The journey offers a gradual introduction to the beauty of the Annapurna region.
Overnight stay in Chame, a small village that serves as the gateway to the Annapurna Circuit trek.

Duration: 5–6 hours

Leaving Manang (3,540m), the trail ascends gradually to Khangsar (3,760m), a small Tibetan-style village. Continuing through Siri Kharka (4,060m), the landscape turns rugged and barren, offering stunning views of Tilicho Peak (7,134m).
The final stretch to Tilicho Base Camp (4,200m) is challenging, crossing narrow ridges and landslide-prone terrain. Base Camp is a small settlement with basic teahouses, preparing trekkers for the next day’s early morning hike to Tilicho Lake (4,919m).
Caution: The high altitude and rocky paths require a slow, steady pace.

An early morning trek leads to Tilicho Lake (4,919m), the highest lake in the world, surrounded by stunning snow-capped peaks. The steep and rocky ascent takes about 2–3 hours, offering breathtaking views of Tilicho Peak and the Annapurna Range.
After spending time at the lake, you'll descend carefully back to Siri Kharka (4,060m), where you'll stay overnight at a teahouse.

Elevation Loss/Gain: 10m descent, followed by gradual ascent

Leaving Siri Kharka (4,060m), the trail descends gently toward Khangsar Village (3,760m) before reconnecting with the main Annapurna Circuit route. Passing through ancient Mani walls and yak pastures, you’ll gradually ascend towards Yak Kharka (4,050m).
This section offers spectacular views of Annapurna III, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak. The altitude gain is moderate, but trekking at a steady pace is essential to prevent altitude sickness. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Yak Kharka.

Duration: 4–5 hours
Elevation Gain: 400m
Trail Type: Moderate, with some steep sections
Leaving Yak Kharka (4,050m), the trail gradually ascends through alpine meadows and rocky terrain, passing small streams and landslide-prone areas. Along the way, you'll cross a wooden bridge over the Marsyangdi River and reach Ledar (4,200m) before continuing toward Thorong Phedi (4,450m), the last stop before Thorong La Pass.
The high altitude makes trekking slower and more challenging, so maintaining a steady pace and staying hydrated is essential. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Thorong Phedi. Some trekkers opt to hike further to High Camp (4,880m) for a shorter ascent the next day.

Elevation Loss: 1,616m (descent)
Trail Type: Strenuous, high-altitude pass crossing
This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the trek. You’ll start before dawn to cross Thorong La Pass (5,416m), one of the highest trekking passes in the world. The steep ascent from Thorong Phedi takes 3–4 hours, with stunning panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges at the top.
After celebrating at the pass, you’ll begin a long, steep descent to Muktinath (3,800m), a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Here, you can visit the Muktinath Temple, 108 water spouts, and the eternal flame shrine.
Overnight stay in Muktinath.

Duration: 5–6 hours
Elevation Loss: 1,080m
Trail Type: Easy descent with windy conditions
After visiting Muktinath Temple, you’ll begin a gradual descent toward Jomsom (2,720m), passing through the arid landscapes of the Mustang region. The trail goes through Jharkot and Kagbeni (2,810m), offering stunning views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri mountains.
The trek follows the Kali Gandaki River, famous for its Shaligram fossils, considered sacred in Hinduism. As you approach Jomsom, the region becomes windy in the afternoon, so trekking earlier in the day is recommended.
Overnight stay in Jomsom, a lively town with an airport, bakeries, and apple orchards.

Duration: 20–30 minutes (flight)
Elevation Loss: 1,893m
On the final day of the trek, you’ll take a scenic flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. The flight offers stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges as it follows the Kali Gandaki River valley.
Upon arrival in Pokhara (827m), you’ll be welcomed by the peaceful atmosphere of this lakeside town, perfect for relaxing after your trek. You can enjoy a leisurely day in Pokhara, exploring its Phewa Lake, World Peace Pagoda, or indulging in some well-deserved rest.

Route: Scenic drive along the Prithvi Highway
On this day, you’ll drive back from Pokhara to Kathmandu. The drive follows the Prithvi Highway, offering scenic views of rivers, terraced fields, and small villages along the way.
As you approach Kathmandu, the landscape transitions to a more urban setting, and you’ll soon arrive in the bustling capital. The drive can take around 6–7 hours, depending on road conditions and traffic.
You’ll have the rest of the day to relax, explore Kathmandu, or do some last-minute shopping before concluding your trekking adventure.
