Nagathali (3,165 meters) and Taru View Point (3,700 meters) lie above Thuman Village, in northern Rasuwa near the Tibetan border. The trail is part of the Tamang Heritage Trail, a cultural route connecting traditional villages such as Tatopani and Thuman are the key places of the Tamang heritage trail.

Itinerary

Begin your journey from Kathmandu with a scenic drive to Syabrubesi. The route winds through terraced fields, forested hills, and traditional villages, offering glimpses of rural Nepali life. You’ll pass rivers, small towns, and local markets, with occasional views of the distant Langtang and Helambu mountain ranges. The road itself is a mix of paved and gravel sections, providing an authentic journey through the hills. Upon arrival in Syabrubesi, you can relax and prepare for the trek ahead.
Overnight: Syabrubesi

The trek starts along the banks of the Bhote Koshi River, passing small villages, terraced farms, and dense forested trails. You will cross several charming suspension bridges and see local life women working in fields, children playing, and farmers tending their crops. The trail gradually ascends, offering occasional glimpses of snow-capped peaks in the distance. Arriving in Tatopani, enjoy the village’s famous natural hot springs, ideal for soothing tired muscles and relaxing in the midst of nature.

Today’s trek is a gradual uphill journey through dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and pine, interspersed with terraced fields. Nagthali is a picturesque village perched on the hillside, with traditional stone and wooden houses, prayer flags fluttering in the wind, and a welcoming local community. Wake up early for the hike to Taru Viewpoint, one of the highlights of this trek. The trail winds through rhododendron and pine forests, gradually opening up to breathtaking panoramic views of the Langtang range, Garesh himal range,Tibetan mountains ranges and surrounding peaks. After soaking in the sunrise and capturing photos, descend to Nagthali then to Thumen Village, a small traditional settlement where you can observe local lifestyles, interact with villagers, and experience authentic Himalayan culture. The trail offers both natural beauty and cultural immersion, making it a memorable trekking day.

Begin the final leg of your trek by descending through forested trails and terraced farmland to Syabrubesi. Along the way, enjoy the peaceful sounds of rivers and birdlife, and take in the scenic valley landscapes. Once in Syabrubesi, board the vehicle for the drive back to Kathmandu. The drive showcases lush valleys, rivers, and small hill towns along the way, offering a reflective end to the trek. Arrive in Kathmandu in the evening, completing a rejuvenating journey through rural Himalayan landscapes and cultural villages.
